Phek District Road Safety Committee conducted Roll Out Programme for Road Signage at District Transport Office, Phek on 25th February 2025.

Deputy Commissioner and Ex-Officio Chairman of District Road Safety, Phek, John Tsulise Sangtam inaugurated the Road Safety CCTV System for enhancing road safety in the district during the program. 

Sangtam in his address appreciated the efforts rendered by the Transport Department in spearheading the Road Signage Roll Out programme. He also said that, ninety percent of accidents occurred due to negligence of the driver, while the remaining occurrence of incidents may be due to unavailable circumstances. He therefore, suggested for conducting regular driving seminar to maintain good driving etiquette. 

Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of Police, Phek, Dr. Pritpal Kaur Batra, highlighted the critical role of Road Signage in guiding the drivers and ensuring their safety. She reiterated that, installation of CCTV marks a significant step towards enhancing road safety, and further informed that Road Signage, which is mandatory and cautionary signs- serves as an essential tool to alert drivers to potential dangers and encourages caution on the roads. 

The programme was chaired by Mulusato Shijoh, Motor Vehicle Inspector, DTO office Phek.
