The Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA), Government of Nagaland, in collaboration with the Indian Performing Right Society (IPRS), is set to host a workshop titled "Managing Rights and Royalties as an Artist" on April 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Centre of Excellence in Music and Arts (CEMA), New Minister's Hill, Kohima.
The workshop aims to empower musicians with crucial knowledge about music rights, copyright protection, and the financial benefits of registering with IPRS. With the evolving landscape of the music industry, understanding intellectual property and royalty collection is vital for artists to safeguard their work and maximize their earnings.
The event will feature two key segments:
1. Discussion Session - Experts from IPRS will provide an in-depth understanding of music copyright, licensing, and royalty distribution, helping artists navigate the complexities of the industry.
2. IPRS Registration Drive -Bands and solo artists will have the opportunity to register with IPRS on-site, ensuring their music is officially recognized and eligible for royalties.
This workshop is a crucial step in equipping the musicians with the knowledge and resources needed to thrive in the industry. TaFMA will be collaborating with IPRS to provide direct access to experts who can guide artists in securing their rights and earnings.
Artists, bands, and industry professionals are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to gain valuable insights, clarify doubts, and take a vital step in protecting their creative work.
