In pursuance of directive issued by the Home Department, the Wokha District will be participating in the State-wide Mass Social Work on 12th November 2025, starting from 7:00 AM onwards.

In this regard, the district administration has informed that the mass social work is being initiated as part of the festive season preparations and aims to promote cleanliness, hygiene, and beautification of public spaces across towns and villages through the collective participation of government employees and the general public.

The key activities to be undertaken include: Removal of building materials and waste stacked along roadsides. Shops and business establishments should ensure proper signboards, repainting, and cleanliness around their premises. Collection and disposal of plastic and non-biodegradable waste at designated points, villages located along the National, State, and District highways must ensure clearing vegetation along their respective stretches. Schools and colleges organizing special cleanliness drives within and around their campuses (with exceptions for institutions conducting exams)

All District Heads of Departments are directed to ensure the active participation of their staff and monitor the involvement of Sub-Divisional Offices. Area Administrative Officers, Executive Officers, and Village Council Chairmen are tasked with supervising the activities within their respective jurisdictions.

Monitoring and reporting will be carried out as follows:  

Village Council Chairmen will oversee the activities in their villages and submit photographic reports to the concerned Area Administrative Officers. Heads of Sub-Divisional Offices will monitor their respective offices and report to the District Heads. District Heads of Departments will oversee district-level offices and upload photographic documentation to the Wokha Government Servants WhatsApp Group.

All government employees and members of the public are encouraged to actively participate in this district-wide effort to uphold community responsibility and ensure a clean and vibrant environment ahead of the festive season.
