World Oral Health Day 2025 was observed at Government Middle School (GMS) Merhiilietsa, Kohima on 20th March 2025, under the theme “A Happy Mouth is a Happy Mind.” The event was organized under the banner of the National Oral Health programme by the Dental Department of Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK).
Dr. Neingutuonuo Angami, the resource person for the event, highlighted the importance of good oral hygiene and its impact on mental well-being. She emphasized that maintaining oral health contributes to overall happiness and encouraged students to adopt healthy dental habits.
As part of the celebration, an essay writing competition and a poster-making competition were conducted for the students. Winners were awarded cash prizes along with certificates, which were presented by Dr. Mhonsenli.
The formal program was chaired by Dr. Noyingbeni Khuvung, while the invocation was led by Petevinuo. Head Teacher, Kiviholi Swu delivered the welcome address. The event concluded with a pledge-taking ceremony and a vote of thanks led by Dr. Neiphrezo Soriinuo.
A total of 100 students and staff participated in the program, and all attendees received free oral health kits as part of the awareness initiative.
