Advisor, Minority Affairs & Sericulture, Imkongmar along with the Director, T. Sanny Pongener, and officials of the Directorate visited Government Sericulture Farms located at Tsiesema village, Kohima; Wokha village, Wokha; VK, Zunheboto; Ungma Village, Mokokchung; Dhansiripar village, Chumukedima; Samaguri village, Dimapur and District Sericulture Offices at Mokokchung & Dimapur from 19th to 22nd May 2023.

Meetings were held in all the places of visit with the respective Officers and Staff of the districts in some of the Farms/Offices, the meeting saw the participation of Sericulture farmers, SHGs, and Yi Authorities where the Farm in charge presented the profile, and activities of the farms and the challenges faced. During the meeting, the Director appraised the house from farm-related viewpoints on technical aspects and administrative issues.

Speaking during the meeting, the Advisor appealed to the farm officials to work hard with dedication and to emphasize more on farm production to generate more revenue. He suggested organizing Awareness Programs for the farmers from time to time and also selecting the farmers based on their performances. He remarked that the visit was a good learning experience where he had the opportunity to meet people working at the grassroots level, see what is happening in the farms, hear the people, and interact with them.
