Advisor, Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, and Excise, Moatoshi Longkumer has embarked on a district tour to assess the Industrial Training Institutes and Employment Exchanges in the state. The tour is aimed at identifying potential issues and shortcomings in the functioning of these establishments and finding ways to improve their performance.

On May 22nd, Moatoshi, accompanied by Additional Secretary and Ex-Officio Director of ESDE, Kovi Meyase and other officials of the Department, carried out the first leg of the tour, visiting Peren, Chümoukedima, and Dimapur districts. During the visit, Moatoshi inspected the ITIs in these districts and interacted with several key personnel such as officers from the District Employment Exchange and Rural Employment Bureau, as well as the Principal and Instructors of the ITIs.

The Advisor pointed out certain areas where improvements were needed, particularly in the areas of infrastructure and training quality. Moatoshi also discussed various measures that could be taken to enhance the employability of the students trained at these institutes.

Moatoshi's tour is part of the government's efforts to promote skill development and employment opportunities in the state. The Advisor's tour will continue over the coming weeks, with visits to various other ITIs and Employment Exchanges across the state. The insights gained from these visits will be used to develop concrete plans and strategies for improving the skilling ecosystem and livelihood opportunities in the state.
