R. Khing, Advisor for Animal husbandry & Veterinary Services and Women Resources Development inaugurated the panchayat hall at Thongsunyu village on 27th October 2022.
He congratulated the citizens and said that Tsogin Range and Phenshunyu Lojwu were the granaries of the Rengma area because of their fertile land, favorable climate, and rich flora and fauna. He further stressed that the road construction through Sendenyu village to Parashen where the first Naga flag was hoisted will benefit the area in many ways.
Deputy Commissioner Tseminyu, Dr. Zasekuolie Chusi, IAS spoke on the potential of the area like tourism and other Agro based activities- the attraction being the Nsonji Lake, biodiversity, conservation, and Parashen which has a historical value to all the people. He told the gathering that they have to go the extra mile to develop the villages as the government can only help those people who help themselves. The highlights of the programmes were a folk dance by Parashen cultural troupe and a special song by Thongsunyu Village women folk. The welcome address was pronounced by the Sentsin Khing village council chairman and a vote of thanks was delivered by Timothy Thong.
