The Angami Gazetted Officers' Krotho (AGOK) had a ‘Nousi Kehou’ at the AGOK Badze, Meriema on 22nd April 2021 with an appeal for the ongoing construction of the AGOK Badze Multi Utility Centre at Meriema, Kohima.
President, AGOK, Dr. Kedozeto Punyü briefed on the Multi Utility Centre project stating that the idea of initiating some concrete development project at AGOK Badze was mooted at a meeting of Angami AHoDs, HoDs, Senior Engineers and Architects in 2017. He stated that the foundation stone of the AGOK Badze Multi Utility Centre was laid by the then Additional Chief Secretary & Finance Commissioner, Lt. Temjen Toy on 9th November 2017 wherein he urged the AGOK to envision a high standard multi utility centre that can serve the government and non-government organization or private citizen.
Dr. Punyü also stated that due to its proximity to the state capital, the Multi Utility Centre will be an asset for the citizen of Kohima and requested all the members that the ongoing project should not be halted till completion and urged all the concerned to contribute for early completion of the building
Advisor AGOK, Daso Paphino narrated on the history of AGOK and the plan of our visionary leaders and pioneers to acquire the land at Meriema to develop for practical purposes. He also stressed on the importance of balancing the proportion of ‘Time, Money and Transparency for any project to sustain.
Advisor AGOK, Er. Kezha Theünuo elaborated on the technical reports of the structure plan of the project and envisage the facilities consisting of a Main Hall with 700-800 seating capacity, Mini Halls for smaller meetings, Guest Rooms, Large Kitchen/Dining Area, Office Rooms, Parking Area for over 100 vehicles.
He also reminded that with all the above facilities to be accommodated in the project, the project cost is expected to be very high and mentioned that the project should not be stalled as much progress had been made since its initiation. He urged all the members to own up to the project and contribute as per one's own capacity, so that the work of the project can go ahead.
Representatives from CGOK, WAGOK, SAGOK also applauded the development made by the AGOK and assured to give maximum support in the activities of AGOK. They also shared their views and deliberated on electing new executive members of AGOK which they opined to elect a search committee in the next gathering.
A trio group led by Project Director, TAFMA, Dr. Hovithal Sothu presented an AGOK ‘Giezo’ (composition) which was composed by Forest Range Officer, Keneikrul Noswe.
Later in the programme Atso Chase and the Griots presented ‘the strongest’ with his newly introduced musical instrument ‘Gei-ü’.
