The Angami Women Organization (AWO) through a press statement informed that the nomenclature “Angamimiapfü Mechü Krotho (AMK)” is no longer in use and is being replaced by the ANGAMI WOMEN ORGANIZATION (AWO).

This is done so for the fact that AWO is registered with the office of the Registrar of Societies, Home Department, Nagaland, Kohima with Registration No. H/RS -3648 dated 05/06/2004. It said that AWO is one of the frontal organizations of the Angami Public Organization (APO), even the youth have been using the nomenclature Angami Youth Organization (AYO).

Hence, to have uniformity and in conformity with APO/AYO, Angami Women Organization is being used in all official correspondences with different departments and other organizations.  It requested all the partners and the government departments to keep in mind to avoid further confusion.
