Konyak Union Kohima (KUK) celebrated its premiere festival of Aoleang Monyu on 3rd April 2021 at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama with Advisor for Fire & Emergency Service, SIRD and Relief and Rehabilitation, Pohwang Konyak as the Special Guest.

Speaking at the function, Konyak said that Aoleang Monyu festival is the most important festival of the Konyak Nagas which is celebrated for six days, beginning from 1st April every year. He said that Aoleang festival signifies invoking the divine blessing and marks the end of the old year and welcome to a new year. 

Welcome speech was delivered by the President, Konyak Union Kohima, Dr. W. Phola. Significance of the Aoleang Monyu festival was given by State Chaplain, Rev.T.W.Yamyap.

The program also witnessed cultural dance presented by Longchang Unit, Tobu Unit, Aboi Unit, Chen Unit, Wakching Unit and Mon circle, which was followed by a community feast.
