Guest of Honour and ADC, Kohima, Rhosietho Nguori launched the Ayushman Bhavan for Kohima district at NHAK, Kohima on 13th September 2023. In his address he extended his gratitude to the medical team for letting him be a part of the Ayushman programme. Stressing on the importance of health issues he stressed on the importance of hygiene and nutrition, ‘A balance diet and a balanced lifestyle is the need of the hour to reduce health issues’ he stated. Rephrasing the quote ‘Health is Wealth’, he mentioned that health is more than wealth today. He also added that we need a collective approach to propagate and spread the message of health issues and its relation with diet and a balanced lifestyle.
Nguori also called upon all the stakeholders, Churches and NGO’s to reach this mission to everyone and to the remotest part of the state through all levels and make the mission a successful one.
Dr. Imnapokim highlighting a slide show on ‘Eye donation’ said that according to WHO, every 5 seconds one person loses their eyesight and one of the key treatment option to deal with corneal blindness is corneal transplant which can be attained by eye donation. He also mentioned that recently, approximately 40 persons in the state have pledged to donate their eyes.
Dr. Avila Sangtam while stressing on the activities of blood donation said that, the team has visited various colleges to create awareness about blood donation and volunteers from various colleges has donated their blood for good cause, she also mentioned that their team will be visiting the other colleges in the next few days to create awareness and the importance of blood donation.
Chairperson and MD, NHAK Dr. Sendimeren Aonok highlighted the scheme of Ayushman Bhavan. He said that the campaign aims to ensure optimum delivery of health schemes to intended beneficiaries, especially in remote areas and for people belonging to economically weaker sections. He added that, there are three major components of the Ayushman Bhava campaign: the distribution of Ayushman cards or "Ayushman Apke Dwar 3.0," a health campaign called "Ayushman Mela," and awareness meetings like "Ayushman Sabha." These programmes are aimed to enhance healthcare accessibility and raise health awareness across the nation.
In the programme, the NHAK also felicitated Professor Kavitoli from Mount Olive college who has been donating her blood for the ninth time and still intending to donate more. MS, NHAK, Dr. Margaret Yhome proposed the vote of thanks during the programme.
