“A total of 16 COVID-19 positive cases have been detected today and the total number of positive cases in the State now stands at 3,635. The positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals and COVID-19 Care Centres. Further, active surveillance and contact tracing is also in progress to prevent further spreading of the infection.

Out of the 3,635 positive cases detected so far, the recoveries are now 2,166. The active cases are 1,453 and there are 8 deaths. As per the severity of symptoms, 1,432 active cases are asymptomatic, 20 active cases are mild and 1 active case is moderate.

Further, out of the 3,635 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people are 1,579 cases of Armed Forces, 1,204 cases of Returnees, 240 cases of Frontline Workers and 612 cases of Traced Contacts.

A total of 34,569 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 33,157 samples have been received. In addition, a total of 21,856 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat.

 

A total of 1,305 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine.
