Consumer Rights Day was observed at Zunheboto on 15th March 2022 at Zunheboto Government College with District and Sessions Judge cum Chairman ZDLSA, Ajonba Imchen as the resource person and Principal Zunheboto Government College, Dr K Nishena Nekha as the special guest.

Ajongba Imchen said that the consumer protection act was implemented in the year 1986 and passed in 2019. No economy can improve without protecting the consumer rights. The consumer protection act 2019 repeals and protects the consumer on all the commodities the consumer availed. Infringing the rights of the consumer must be stopped.

Dr Nishena Nekha in his speech stated that consumers should know their rights and be protected adding that unfair businesses prevailing in the market should be looked and that consumers should be vigilant.

The programme was organised by Consumer Rights Organization, Zunheboto in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority, Legal Metrology and consumer protection, Zunheboto Government College and Department of Economics. The programme was chaired by Dr C Periasamy, Associate Professor Zunheboto Government College while vote of thanks was delivered by Kaliho Murru, Organizing Secretary, CRO Zunheboto.
