A launching programme of the cooperative marketing pick-up vans, assisted under Integrated Cooperative Development Project (ICDP) 2020-2021, ARCS Tuensang, was held on 28th July 2021 with Deputy Commissioner & Chairman DLCC, ICDP, Kumar Ramnikant as the special guest.

The beneficiaries of ICDP pickup trucks were Saoshou VDB MPCS Ltd, Tsadang VDB MPCS ltd, Alisopur VDB MPCS ltd, Jung yam Fishery CS Ltd, Shove Agri &Allied CS ltd and Chendang Village integrated MPCS ltd.

Kumar Ramnikant said that India with more than half of its population engaged in agri &allied sector, farmers should be given an important recognition but unfortunately it is not happening in the society. He stated that the country has a different set of system where population is more concentrated in urban areas and fewer in rural areas, where the whole workforce is concentrated and it is a matter of concern, for which there is a need to link the markets.

Ramnikant stressed on the need for the right market for organic products and also increase demand. He also applauded the department’s initiatives in figuring out the right society and giving the giving the pickup van which will ease farmers’ activities. The DC also advised the beneficiaries to use the property with utmost care so that it will give them all the maximum services in expanding the business. He urged the beneficiaries to cooperate and keep a bond within the society so that it can grow together. 

Chairman, Jungyam Fishery CS Ltd Nokak village, Hangthing Khiam shared an experience sharing while ARCS Tuensang, Akhangjongshi chaired the programme.
