The National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) COTPA flying, squad led by District Nodal Officer, (NTCP) Wokha, Police DBs and District Tobacco Control cell (DTCC) members conducted raid on sale of prohibited tobacco products in an area within a radius of one hundred (100) meters of educational institutions under COTPA Section 6 (b) on 30th March 2021.

            During the raid, five defaulters were penalized and prohibited items were seized and the seized products were destroyed the same day in presence of the all the COTPA flying squad members.

            DNO, Wokha also informed that similar raids will be conducted frequently as per the laid down COTPA sections and law.
