In view of the ongoing Bye-election to 14th Southern Angami-l Assembly Constituency scheduled for polling on 3rd Nov. 2020, the Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Kohima, Mohammed Ali Shihab A has notified that all the shops/business establishments and Government Offices under the 14th Southern Angami-l Assembly Constituency and all shops/ business establishments within Kohima Municipal Area have directed to remain closed on the day of Poll i.e. 3rd Nov.2020 from 4:00 AM to 7:00 PM. "Further paid holiday shall be granted to all employees from the area of the constituency including the electors outside the constituency to enable them to participate and exercise their Universal Adult Franchise. However, this order shall not apply to electors whose absence may cause danger or substantial loss in respect of the employment in which he/she is engaged. "

Failure to comply with this order shall invite legal actions as per relevant sections of the law under Indian Penal Code (IPC).

This order was issued in pursuance of the Home Department Notification No. GAB/GEN/4/2014, Dated Kohima, the 29th Oct. 2020.
