The Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire has constituted a 17-member District Level Anti-Ragging Monitoring Committee with immediate effect. Deputy Commissioner will chair the panel, while the District Education Officer, Kiphire will be the Member Secretary. Other members include:
1. Superintendent of Police. Kiphire
2. The Chief Judicial Magistrate. Kiphire
3. Additional Deputv Commissioner. Kiphire/Pungro/Seyochung
4. Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Kiphire
5. Extra Assistant Commissioners, Amahator, Longmatra, Sitimi, Khongsa, Kiusam
6. The Chief Medical Officer, Kiphire
7. The Principal, Zisaji Presidency College, Kiphire
8. District Welfare Officer / District Social Welfare Officer, Kiphire
9. District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), Kiphire
10. Senior S.D.E.O, Kiphire
11. District Public Relations Officer, Kiphire
12. Centre Administrator, SAKHI OSC Kiphire
13. District Mission Coordinator, Mission Shakti / DHEW, Kiphire
14. Official representative from Higher & Technical Education, if any
15. One representative each from Educational Institutions/Schools (Private/Government) to be nominated by the Chairman
The committee will monitor anti-ragging measures in all Higher Educational Institutions of Kiphire district as per UGC and Nagaland Govt guidelines.
The committee shall monitor and review the implementation of anti-ragging measures in all Higher Educational, and to ensure that all Higher Educational Institutions in the district constitute their internal Anti-Ragging Committees / Squads / Monitoring Mechanisms as mandated under the relevant rules and guidelines.
The Committee shall also review the preparedness of Higher Educational Institutions with regard to anti-rating, awareness, complaint redressal, counselling, monitoring and disciplinary protocols.
It shall facilitate coordination between the District Administration, Police, Educational Institutions and other concerned agencies for prompt prevention, reporting and handling of incidents of ragging, if any.
It shall oversee awareness and sensitization measures in Higher Educational Institutions to ensure that students, parents, hostel authorities, faculty members and non-teaching staff are adequately informed about anti-ragging regulations and consequences of violations.
It shall examine the action points emerging from the Anti-Ragging Committee, and shall obtain periodic reports from the Heads of Higher Educational Institutions in the district
And shall submit Action Taken Reports / compliance reports to the Government through the appropriate channel, as and when called for by the Higher & Technical Education Department or any other competent authority.
The Member Secretary shall coordinate meetings of the Committee, compile reports from the institutions concerned, and place the same before the Chairman for further necessary action.
