Deputy Commissioner-level border meeting was held between Deputy Commissioner
Wokha, Nagaland, Ajit Kumar Ranjan and Deputy Commissioner Golaghat, Assam,  Dr. P.
Uday Praveen at 142 Bn CRPF Camp, Merapani on 21 st September 2022.
During the meeting, the CRPF highlighted the role of the neutral forces in the Disputed
Area Belt (DAB) and claimed that the force helps maintain status quo as per the existing
agreement signed by the governments of Nagaland and Assam in 1979 and outlined the various
pending issues in DAB pertaining to sectors B, C and D.
The meeting deliberated upon pertinent issues and necessary instructions were conveyed
to the departments concerned for their resolution. The meeting resolved that all the departments
and border magistrates should remain in constant touch and share relevant information in order
to ensure peace in the Disputed Area Belt.
Superintendents of Police and officials of various departments concerned from both the
States attended the meeting.
