In a circular, the Deputy Commissioner Longleng W. Manpai Phom, has informed that in view of the recent incessant rainfall and continued weather conditions resulting in increased risk of landslides, flash floods, water logging and falling trees in multiple location under Longleng district, public are advised to remain alert and take necessary safety measures.

            The general public is advised not to venture out near river banks, overflowing drains or streams for any activity during the ongoing rainy season. To avoid non-essential travels during torrential rains. It is strictly advised not to travel along vulnerable roads stretches/highways during cloudburst and thunderstorms. To stay away from landslide-prone locations and unstable slopes/riverbanks. To regularly check weather updates/forecasts and closely follow all instructions issued by the district administration and other competent authorities.

            It also advised to cooperate with authorities in the management of any disaster situations and to avoid spreading unverified information or rumours.
