The Deputy Commissioner Mon, Wennyei Konyak, NCS has informed to the general public of Mon District that the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation (DAF), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, is implementing the “Dr. Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme (Revised-2026)" for providing financial assistance to eligible persons belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities suffering from serious life-threatening ailments requiring surgery/treatment.
Under the revised scheme, eligible applicants whose annual family income is less than 5,00,000/- (Rupees Five Lakh only) may avail financial assistance, subject to the prescribed terms and conditions of the Scheme.
Further, the proposal/ application of patients covered under the PMJAY Scheme shall not be eligible for consideration under this scheme except kidney transplantation which is not covered under PM- JAY Scheme.
