Deputy Commissioner Niuland, Sara S Jamir has informed the public that the rampant extraction of Boulders & Sand from the river bed along the stretch of Chathe River falling under Niuland district is causing irreparable destruction to the ecology and endangering the lives and properties of the people around the area.

In this regard, the extraction of Boulders and sand in the mentioned areas is hereby completely restricted.

Defaulters, if any shall be penalized as per the relevant provision of the law including seizure and confiscating of machinery and equipments.
