DC Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa has issued travel advisory on the Movement of all Heavy vehicles at NH-202 at Chainage Km 98 near IOC Petrol Pump Tuensang, which has been sunken and completely cut-off due to continuous land subsidence and landslides triggered by incessant rainfall.
Besides, the alternate diversion route passing through the IOC Petrol Pump adjacent to NH-202 is also experiencing fresh sinking and as per the technical assessment and report submitted by the PWD (NH), the movement of heavy vehicles is further aggravating the sinking condition of the alternate diversion route, thereby posing an imminent threat to public safety, vehicular movement and critical infrastructure stability and immediate preventive and regulatory measures are necessary to prevent the further damage and to ensure safety of life and property.
In this regard, the DC issued the following direction to be followed with immediate effect until further orders:
1. Movement of all Heavy vehicles along Chainage 98.00 (NH-202)/ IOC Petrol Pump shall be restricted until further orders.
2. Only light vehicle (LMVs), Ambulance, Fire and Emergency Service Vehicles, Police Vehicle and Other essential emergency service vehicle shall be permitted to pass through the IOC Petrol Pump with caution and subject to strict regulations and safety clearance by the competent authority.
3. All restricted heavy vehicles are directed to make necessary arrangements for transshipment of their loads at ISBT (Chainage 87.00)
4. Any violation of this order attract penal action under the relevant provisions of the Disaster Management Act,2005 and other applicable laws in force.
This order shall remain force with immediate effect and shall remain valid until further orders, the advisory stated
