DEPARTMENTAL ENQUIRY COMMITTEE CONSTITUTED TO ENQUIRE ALLEGED MISUSE OF MGNREGA FUNDS

Joint Secretary, Rural Development Department, Polan John has issued a press release stating that The Department of Rural Development has constituted a 3 (Three) member Departmental Enquiry Committee headed by the Additional Director, Rural Development to enquire into the alleged misuse of funds under MGNREGA by the VDB, Longzang village under Phomching Block, Mon District as reported in Local Dailies on 13/05/2022 under the caption “Longzang villagers seek help on misuse of MGNREGA”. The Enquiry Committee has been directed to submit its report to the Government within 15 (fifteen) days from the date of issue of Notification.

Further, it stated that the Department had taken up with the Deputy Commissioner, Mon to suspend the Village Development Board (VDB) Longzang Village under Phomching Block, Mon District till such time appropriate action is taken by the Government.
