In view of the incessant rainfall across Dimapur district and the possibility of waterlogging, flash floods, landslides and other rain-related incidents, the District Administration and District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Dimapur, has issued a public advisory urging residents to remain alert and take necessary precautions.
DC and Chairman, DDMA, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, NCS, has advised the public to avoid unnecessary travel, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall, and refrain from venturing into flooded areas, rivers, streams or other water bodies. Residents have also been cautioned to stay away from weak structures, damaged buildings, electric poles and fallen trees. Motorists have been advised to exercise extreme caution while driving and avoid crossing flooded roads and bridges.
Further urged the public to keep essential items, emergency medicines, important documents and a torch readily available. Citizens have been asked to follow official weather updates and advisories issued by the concerned authorities.
People residing in low-lying and vulnerable areas have been advised to remain prepared for possible evacuation if required.

The District Administration appealed to citizens to remain calm, vigilant and cooperate with authorities during the prevailing weather conditions. It also urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information and rely only on official sources for updates.
