Director, Food and Civil Supplies, V. Lovitoly Sema, Flagged off the 6th phase of Pradhan Mantri Garip Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY), the additional allocation of foodgrains to all the AAY and PHH Ration Card Holders on 7th April 2022.

During a short program held at FCI Storage Depot, Dimapur, Director, stated that the scheme was initiated by the government of India as part of the economic response to Covid 19 to help to ameliorate the hardships faced by the poor due to economic destruction caused by coronavirus by providing additional food grains of 5kg per person per month to all the beneficiaries covered under targeted Public Distribution System. She believed that flagging off additional food grains for six months would greatly benefit the beneficiaries. She also thanked the FCI officials for their cooperation in the successful implementation of the scheme.

Divisional manager FCI who also spoke during the program assured cooperation for the successful implementation of various central schemes.
