As part of the International Youth Day celebration, Kohima district level Spoken Word Competition was conducted at Japfù Christian College, Kigwema on 12th August 2022. The programme was organised by District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit in collaboration with Japfù Christian College, Kigwema under the theme, “Intergenerational Solitary: Creating a world for all ages-HIV free”.

Speaking at the function, District ICTC Supervisor Vituozolie Kuotsu shared on how the HIV virus is transmitted. He also spoke on how HIV is not transmitted such through hugging, shaking hands with infected person and sharing clothes and toilet. District TB Officer, Dr. Chibenthung Kithan shared on Tuberculosis awareness.

Chutile Seb, (5th semester) won the first prize of the Kohima District Spoken Word Competition while Chuphen C Longkongly (3rd semester) came in second and the third prize was bagged by Viketou Kiso (5th semester). The consolation prizes were bagged by Y. Naowang K (Class-12) and Vidito Noswe (5th semester) and Watu Mero (3rd semester). Altogether, 24 students participated in the competition.

Principal JCC, Dr.Visakhonü Hipo delivered the welcome address while DPO, District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit, Sentimongla Tzudir proposed the vote of thanks.
