SDG Coordination Centre, Planning & Coordination Department, Govt. of Nagaland organised District level workshop on building capacities for taking forward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at DC's Conference Hall, Peren on 16th September, 2021.

Deputy Commissioner Peren, Sentiwapang Aier, NCS in his opening remark said the SDGs was adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030.

In the 1st technical session, SDG Officer, Abilo Humtsoe gave a brief highlight on SDGCC Nagaland wherein she said that SDGs are a collection of 17 global goals, 169 associated targets and 232 indicators designed to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. She also said SDGCC of the Planning & Coordination Department, Government of Nagaland was established with a mandate to act as a centre for knowledge dissemination, SDG monitoring, policy strengthening and as an accelerator of SDG Implementation across the state.  Abilo during her comprehensive powerpoint presentation also spoke on the topics: SDG Localisation & Integration in Nagaland with focus on Peren District, Screening of the Nagaland SDG Vision 2030 video, National level preparedness, State level strategy for achieving SDGs goals, State and District level institutional mechanism, District SDG monitoring framework and NER District SDG index-Overall performance of Nagaland and Peren.

Later, an interactive session was led by SDG Consultant where identification of locally relevant challenges and root cause for the identified challenges and identification of viable solutions to the challenges identified was also held.
