The Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland has issued a clarification in Pursuant to the Notification NO. DHFW-21/FSSA/3/2023-24/261-74 dated 02.06.2026, for the purpose of removing ambiguity regarding its interpretation and implementation of the above notification pertaining to prohibition of sale/manufacture, processing, packaging, storage, transportation, distribution or sale of all food products containing tobacco and/or nicotine as ingredients. 
1.    The effective date of implementation/enforcement of the above notification shall be w.e.f. 02.06.2026 for a period 1(One) year till 01.06.2027. 
2.    The prohibition extends to food products containing tobacco and/or nicotine as ingredients. 
3.    The Food Safety Officials shall ensure the implementation of the prohibition under their respective jurisdiction in co-ordination with the District Administration and Police.
