The monthly meeting of the District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) Dimapur took place on November 7, 2023, at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner's office in Dimapur. The meeting was chaired by Moatoshi Longkumer, Advisor for Labour, Employment & Skill Development, Excise, and Chairman of DPDB, Dimapur.

            At the start of the meeting, Longkumer extended a warm welcome to Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, NCS, the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, on behalf of the DPDB.

            During the meeting, Dr. Chang called for cooperation from all members to support the District Administration in the overall development of the district. He expressed his gratitude to various departments for their successful execution of a Mock drill organized by the NSDMA recently.

            Dr. Chang also discussed the recurring flood issue in Dimapur and presented measures taken to address the problem. He informed the Board about the issuance of show cause notices to identified encroachers following a survey conducted by the authorities. Longkumer expressed optimism that the due process would be completed before the onset of winter.

            In the meeting, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) provided an overview of the Dengue situation in Dimapur and updated the attendees on the procurement and arrival of critical equipment required to combat the disease. The CMO also expressed gratitude to DPDB members for their contributions to a blood donation camp.

            Additionally, the Administrator of the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) discussed the installation of CCTV cameras in Dimapur city and deliberated on the removal of obsolete cables and wires to enhance the city's aesthetics.

            The DPDB approved the formation of the Verification Committee for the Local Area Development Program (LADP) 2023-2024 and agreed to recommend the proposal for Grant-in-Aid to the S. Apostolic Mission Residential School in Zakiesato Colony, Dimapur. They also decided to forward the proposal for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the Department of Higher Education.

            Furthermore, the DPDB recommended several society registrations to the government, including the Linguistic Minority Forum of Nagaland, Midland, Dimapur, Dimapur Motor Sports Club (DMSC) in Thahekhu Village, Eco Warriors Nagaland, Duncan Bosti, and the Nagaland School Alliance in Kevijau Colony.
