A monthly DPDB meeting for Peren District was held at Deputy Commissioner conference Hall Peren on 6th June 2022. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Peren, Sentiwapang Aier(NCS). The meeting began with the introduction of new members.

 During the meeting, Manager, Elder Line National Helpline for Senior Citizens, Neithonuo Liegise gave a short PowerPoint presentation on Information, guidance, abuse, emotional support, and visions to facilitate happy and healthy aging by serving the senior citizens in the district and to intervene directly to rescue & reunion of Homeless elderly. She also highlighted the achievements and instructed the members to call the helpline number 14567 for information and guidance and to register the names of the elder citizens. Under the initiatives of Elder Line a separate counter for Seniors Citizens in the SBI at Kohima has also been opened, she added. Neithonuo urged the members present in the meeting to work together for the well-being of Seniors citizens.

In this regard, DC advised the members to make use of the facilities provided by the ministry and requested the social Welfare Department to tie up with District Administration for rectification of old-age pensions, etc. Manager Elder helpline, Neithonuo Leigise also requested the police personnel to assist FRO and Deputy CMO Peren to offer free medical checkups to elder citizens once a month at its office which is located at Ngwalwa village.

Local area development funds for Tening AC and Peren AC were also highlighted and approved in the meeting. The meeting minutes of the last DPDB were also reviewed. Lifeline road blockade and shortage of manpower for road clearance under the Nsong area were also discussed. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks pronounced by the Deputy Commissioner.
