The Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources under the scheme Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) and in commemoration of the celebration of 75 years of India’s Independence Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav handed over 4 (Four) Refrigerated Vans to the beneficiaries by the Special Guest, Kevisa Kense (IAS) Secretary to the Govt. of Nagaland at the Directorate premises on 22nd February 2022.

The Special Guest in his brief address highlighted the importance and need to encourage more entrepreneurs to take up fishery-related activities and also develop more post-harvest infrastructure facilities which would facilitate and promote marketing of locally produced table fish. 

Rongsennungba, Addl. Director and HoD, Dept. of Fisheries and AR in his address, expressed his appreciation to the officers' concern for the successful implementation of the project and hoped that the beneficiaries would make optimum use of the facility by engaging in the collection, procuring, and selling of locally produced fish and thereby making it available to the local consumers in a good and hygienic condition. 

In the program, Neitho-o Kuotsu, Jt. Director and Nodal Officer gave a brief report about the project on Entrepreneur Development under RKVY and stressed the importance of fish preservation and quality control.

Chanbemo Ezung, a fishmonger from Doyang reservoir, on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude to the Department for taking up such a noble venture in supporting the Entrepreneurs of the State. 

The programme was chaired by Khriezhato Nakhro, DFO Noklak.
