A floral artistry workshop organised by farmer's cell, school of Agricultural Science, Nagaland University Medziphema Campus in collaboration with the District Administration Medziphema was held at the Multi-Purpose Hall SASRD, Medziphema on 31st October 2025.

            ADC Medziphema, P. James Swu speaking at the workshop expressed his happiness about the floral artistry workshop as it was first of its kind in Medziphema, and stated the key aspects of the workshops, and its benefits. He encouraged the participants to participate with full zeal to learn and to apply in life skills.

            He encourage that the workshop will be a learning experience and opportunity to discover a new hobby, where it will enhance creativity, and added that working with flowers can be therapeutic and stress relieving. ADC also emphasized the importance of flowers in human life, the benefits in boosting mental wellbeing, enhance aesthetic appreciation, creativity and also in developing entrepreneurship.

            In his short speech, Professor Dipak Sinha, Pro -Vice Chancellor SAS NU encouraged the participants to actively attend the floral artistry workshop with dedication, and said that the workshop will enhance creativity to learn and develop new skills. He also educated the participants on the importance of flowers in life and also to develop an entrepreneurial mind.

            The resource persons of the workshop- Dr. Rokolhuu Keditsu, Associate Professor Department of Horticulture SAS NU, and Dr. Nini R, Kuotsu, Assistant Professor Department of vocational studies and skill development, Abdul Rahman, Department of Horticulture SAS NU, spoke on essential topics like symmetrical equilateral flower arrangement, scalene shape, resin floral art, center piece arrangement, Ikebana flower arrangement, and contemporary flower arrangement.

            This was followed by demonstration of various flower arrangement style and techniques. Earlier the inaugural program was chaired by Dr. Mary N. Odyuo Associate Professor. Invocation was proposed by Dr. Sentimenla Jamir Assistant Professor and vote of thanks by Dr. Sabbithi Pavan Assistant Professor. Altogether 84 participants, both offline and online attended the floral artistry workshop.
