Governor's Award for outstanding contribution was given out during the Governor's "At Home" programme which was held on 26th January at the Dr. Imkongliba Ao Hall, Raj Bhavan, Kohima.
Governor, R.N.Ravi gave away the Governor's Award for outstanding contributions to the Joint Council of Fakim, Thanamir and Vongtsuvong Village, Kiphire, for the Conservation and Protection of Environment. The same was also awarded to ARK (Access to Rights and Knowledge) Foundation, Kohima, for Creating Awareness and Mitigation of Social ills.
Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio in his address expressed happiness about how many Nagas were able to contribute to the Nation building. He also congratulated the recipients of the Governor's Award and urged them to continue with their good works.
Governor, R.N. Ravi, urged the gathering to harness the forces of good and contribute for the betterment of the society. He acknowledged the two recipients of the award and said that it was awarded to the unseen and unsung people for their exemplary services to humanity. The Governor also expressed with hope that the two awardees will inspire people to work for the protection and conservation the environment and upliftment of the weaker sections.
