Along with the rest of the nation, the 76th Independence Day was celebrated at Akuluto ADC HQ, Zunheboto on 15th August 2022.

Advisor, NSDMA and CAWD, Kazheto Kinimi, hoisted the National flag and delivered the Independence Day speech as the special guest. A total of six contingents participated in the Independence Day Parade which was led by ABSI Orenthung Lotha of F Coy. 8th NAP Akuluto.

Other highlights of the programme included cultural presentations by Lumithsami village, Lotisa Old village, women folk of Akuluto town and students of JNV Zunheboto. Exhibition stalls were set up by Krishi Vigyan Kendra NU Lumami Zunheboto while a COVID vaccination booth was also set up during the programme.
