Imkong L Imchen speaking on the Lotha Tokhu Emong festival at Local Ground Wokha District organized by Lotha Hoho on 7th November 2022.
MLA Imkong L Imchen highly spoke of the Lotha community during the Tokhu Emong celebration where the Lotha community contributed towards the Naga movement strengthening through various resolutions in the Wokha district, while he also stated that Hoho came to be accepted by all Naga tribes for its relevance to an apex organization.
He also said that through the Lotha Tribal Council (LTC) initiative Naga convention confederation of all tribes where the Lotha Hoho earlier known as the LTC hosted the first Naga convention at Wokha District, summing up that the Lothas community envision a collective Nagas as one and for having one general platform called Nagas of Nagaland where Naga Hoho came into being. He called once again the Lotha Hoho to push forward in restructuring what they have begun so that Nagas of Nagaland will have one common platform.
He wished the Lotha community prosperity through the celebration of Tokhu Emong mini hornbill festival and to rejuvenate the goodness of the Lotha community so that they continue to contribute towards the Naga society in general.
The celebration witnessed a traditional dance and folk song presented by WATSU Telongjem Wokha, Wokha Town Phiro cultural organization, and Niroyo Epoe Eramoe Okho, while the choir of Wokha Town Baptist Church presented Tokhu song on the occasion.
Earlier in the programme, Wopemo Tsopoe advisor Lotha Hoho shared the history and the practices of Lotha ancestors on how and why the community celebrated Tokhu Emong festival. The day's event ended with tug-of-war completion and Zuvotong Colony emerged as the champion.
The three-day-long programme and five-day Tokhu Night carnival culminated with Er. Mhathung Kikon, executive engineer (R&B), Wokha as the valedictory guest where the music event curtained down the annual mini hornbill event.
