The 77th Independence Day celebration took place at Shamator Town Public Ground with great enthusiasm. The event was hosted by Roktsula, Assistant Professor at Shamator College. The special guest for the occasion was Dr. Tsielhoutuo Rhutso, MLA. The festivities commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag and the singing of the National Anthem. This was followed by the inspection of Parade Contingents by the esteemed Special Guest. Dr. Rhutso then delivered the Independence Day speech and led the attendees in taking a pledge for a Drug-Free Nagaland. The event featured a remarkable march-past by parade contingents, including Kumrila Lims & Immanuel Children Home, Shamator. The occasion was further adorned with district Commendation awards, cultural performances by Mongtsuwong Cultural Troupe, Dhopun Cultural Society, and Shamator Village Cultural Troupe. The Special Guest also inaugurated the exhibition stalls and CCTV cameras at the police station in Shamator, which was followed by a state lunch at GA Rest House Shamator.
