In Phek District Hq. the celebration was done at Local Ground, Phek Town with MLA & Leader of NPF Legislature party Kuzholuzo Nienu as the special guest of the occasion.

He hoisted the Tricolor and took Rashtriya Salute from the Parade Contingents followed by the National Anthem. 

He delivered the Independence Day speech and inspected the parade contingents. 

Seventeen parade contingents took part where ABSI Kuzhoso Epao and ABSI Wepute led the march past. 

The special guest inaugurated the Exhibition stalls made by Agri and Allied Departments and Self-Help groups during the occasion.

Folk songs and dances of various groups and demonstrations of Taekwondo were the highlights of the celebration.

Independence Day celebration began at 6:00 AM by hoisting the National Flag in the govt. offices, institutions, and private residences in Phek town. 

About Three thousand audience including Govt. officials, GBs, and Area Public were assembled and witnessed the celebration.
