Citizens celebrated the occasion at Shamator with S. Keoshu Yimchunger as the special guest. The special guest unfurled the National flag and inspected the marching continents and read out the Independence Day speech followed by a special number by C. Rukkila, a Taekwondo demonstration by SDTA. 

Dr. Mhathung Ngullie MO Shamator received the first District outstanding service meritorious Award. The inauguration of stalls was followed by Cultural presentations from Lunkhe Cultural Troupe, Mongtsuwong Cultural Troupe, Kuthur Village, Sangphur Village, Shamator village, and Sukiur-B village Cultural Troupes. 

S. Keoshu Yimkhiung also inaugurated GA Flat at Shamator.
