President Konyak Union, Tingtok Konyak graced the closing ceremony of 11th Inter Departmental Tournament Mon as Special Guest on 19th February 2025 at Officers’ Club Mon (OCM).
In his speech, the President KU thanked the Officers’ Club Mon for organizing such a Tournament. He asserted that the tournament is very encouraging to many people of Mon district, and had been improving in sports, especially in the field of Badminton, citing the example of Leihong Konyak who recently got the Gold Medal both in singles and double at the Indo Nepal International Badminton Championship. He also said that organizing such sports activities is good for health and also understanding each other better among the officials posted in the district. He informed that Konyak Civil Societies is happy with the tournament and assured to give full cooperation in the days to come too.
Badminton exhibition match between DC Team and SP Team was also held during the tournament. The Department of Health & Family Welfare emerged as the Team Champion of the tournament, while DEO bagged 2nd Position.
Welcome Address was delivered by Ado Yanlem, Addl. SP & Co Convenor of OCM, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Ajit Kumar, SDO (Civil) Mon.
