The Government of Nagaland along with the Assam Rifles have evacuated 553 more returnees in the second phase and the evacuated persons reached Kohima safely on 10th May 2023. The Government of Nagaland along with the Assam Rifles had earlier, safely evacuated 676 returnees in the first phase on 7th May 2023 and so, the total number of persons evacuated stands at 1229 till date.
Looking into the plight of the returnees, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has agreed to grant a token relief of Rs. 5000 per person/family unit. The State Government is taking all measures to ensure that all citizens of the State stranded in Manipur are able to safely return to their Home State.
