Atoizu hosted to the official visit of Ngayaipam A. Shimray, Young Professional from NITI Aayog, as part of the Government of India’s Aspirational Block Programme for the Akhuaito Block in Zunheboto District. The event, jointly organized by MLA, Er. Picto Shohe (32 A/C Atoizu) and the District Administration of Zunheboto, was chaired by Dr Samuel Akho Konyak P, NCS, Extra Assistant Commissioner, Atoizu and Nodal Officer for the Aspirational Block Programme.

The programme commenced with an opening prayer by Khekiye Achumi, Pastor of Atoizu Town Baptist Church, followed by a welcome address from Nukutulu S. Venuh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Atoizu. Short speeches were delivered by Er. Picto Shohe, Anatoly Suu (Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Zunheboto) and Kitoli Naje (Chairperson, Atoizu Town Council). Shimray then presented the keynote address and led an interactive discussion with departmental representatives. Subsequent PowerPoint presentations showcased sectoral initiatives by the Deputy Chief Medical Officer Zunheboto, District Programme Officer, Social Welfare, Subdivision Education Officer; Executive Engineers of PHED and SDO PWD (R&B); District Representative & BPM, NSRLM Akuhaito; and the Agricultural, Veterinary, and Soil Conservation Officers.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Gihuka Chishi, Medical Officer at Atoizu PHC, and a benediction from Khetoi Chophi, Pastor of NCRC, Atoizu Town. Notably, as part of the visit, the entire team undertook extensive field visits a day prior and the day of, inspecting offices, government institutions, health centres, and schools across the Atoizu Sub-division. These ground-level interactions provided valuable insights into the region’s progress and challenges under the Aspirational Block framework.
