The office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, has informed that the Counting of Votes for Bye Election to 28-Koridang Assembly Constituency was successfully completed on 4th May, 2026 at 01 (one) Counting Centre. Counting of Votes was conducted in the presence of the contesting candidates/election agents and counting agents. A total of 51 (fifty one) counting agents witnessed the counting process. After counting of votes, results were officially declared by the concerned Returning Officer.
After completion of counting of votes, VVPAT slips were taken out from VVPATs in the presence of candidates/their representatives under CCTV coverage and security and kept in black envelopes for storage in the strong room having statutory documents. EVMs were also sealed in the presence of candidates/their representatives before storing in the strong room in the presence of candidates/their representatives.
As per storage and security protocol prescribed by the Election Commission of India EVMs will be stored in the strong room, till finalization of list of Election Petitions by the concerned High Court. In case of Election Petition, the EVMs will remain in the strong room till final disposal of Election Petition.
