The Department of Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection organised a Consumer Awareness Program under the theme “Accurate Measurement, Safe Products-Confident Consumer”, at Government Polytechnic Aboi on 24th April 2026.
Speaking on the occasion, Er. Nganyei Konyak, Sr. Inspector LMCP Mon pointed out that this is the first time such a program had been held at Aboi. He urged the students to be aware of the Consumer Rights as laid down in the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. He also highlighted the Consumer responsibilities, to make it a habit of reading instructions of products, collecting memos as per Packaged Commodities Rules and encouraged the students to keep vigilant always. He also informed that as per the rules of the District Consumer Redressal Commission, it has the capacity to receive up to 1(one) crore complaints.
Earlier, the Program began with an invocation from Shamao, EU Ex-President GPA followed by a welcome address delivered by Vekuno Cukhamu, Demonstrator. The program culminated with a vote of thanks from Laokei.
