The 63rd Nagaland Statehood celebration at Secretariat Plaza, Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima on 1st December 2025 also featured cultural extravaganza presented by cultural troupes.

The Meriema Cultural Troupe performed ‘Rukhru Mezu’ a combination of Angami folk song and dance. Rukhru Mezu means overcoming challenges through the example of Christ which is very important for the young folks as it brings hope, peace, and victory through Christ that has no season or month for this folk dance to be performed.

Zhove Cultural Troupe of the Chakhesang tribe presented a cultural performance which honours their ancestors and ask them to preserve their motherland.

Shena Old Cultural Troupe of the Sumi tribe presented a war dance usually performed during feast of merit and after a great head-hunting victory during the old days.

The Sangpin Tah folk song along with the traditional dance was showcased by the womenfolk which is performed during the Tsahyoknyi Festival, a pre-seed sowing festival of the Tikhir tribe.
