ADC & Executive Officer, Wokha Town Council, Renbomo Ezung has informed to all concerned that as per Municipal Affairs Department notification all shopkeepers/traders and business establishment under Wokha Town Council jurisdiction that New Market regulation is hereby notified for market establishment in Wokha Town as follows.
1. All shops and various business establishments within Wokha Town Council jurisdiction to put sign board by 31st Oct 2024 positively with the following.
i. Name of the shop
ii. Nature of the shop
iii. Shop License/Permit Number
iv. GSTIN (For those shops selling goods/items under GST Rules)
2. All shops to maintain clean and hygiene environment by mandatorily keeping proper waste bin within/outside their shops.
3. All shops owners should refrain from employing salesperson who is not well acquainted with the prices so as to avoid unnecessary argument and misunderstanding between customers and shop owners.
4. All shops owners to properly maintain and keep their shop permit license and other related documents in the shop.
5. All shop owners are directed not sell expired goods to the customers.
6. All shops are directed not to sell their products above the printed maximum retail price (MRP) as per the Consumer Protection Act 2019 & Legal Metrology Act 2009.
7. Any shops or individuals found tempering the original printed MRP on any products shall be prosecuted under relevant section of the Law.
8. All shops are to be closed on Sunday except Medical shops.
9. All shops owners are directed to install light bulb in their shop by 31st Oct 2024 without fail
Non-compliance to the above regulation by any shops/individuals will be liable to pay penalty of Rs.2000/- for the first offence and Rs.3000/- for the subsequence offence.
Therefore, all are directed to comply with the above notification without fail.
