The Department of Food & Civil Supplies had a review meeting to take stock of the current situation on the availability of LPG and other Petroleum products in the State. The meeting was attended by DCs of Kohima, Dimapur, Chumoukedima, Department of F&CS and representatives from Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) on 12th March 2026 at Kohima.
After reviewing the current stock status, the Department of Food and Civil Supplies, Nagaland Kohima, has informed all consumers that there is sufficient domestic LPG stock available in the market and that there is no shortage in the State.
In view of this, the Department urges all consumers not to panic or indulge in unnecessary hoarding of domestic LPG creating artificial scarcity.
Department also cautions all Distributors, Retailers, and Individuals that black marketing, over pricing or unauthorised sale of domestic LPG is illegal and punishable under relevant provisions of law. Strict action will be initiated against any person or entity found involved in such activities.
The Department seeks cooperation of all the public to maintain orderly distribution and follow the norms laid out. This is also to sensitise the public that booking of Domestic LPG is done purely through digital booking system and delivery is done through Delivery Authentication Code (DAC). Booking is allowed after a gap of 25 (twenty five) days. This measure is put in place to avoid hoarding & other ill practices and ensure smooth & fair distribution to all consumers.
