In line with the recommendations of the District Level Committee for District Awards, and in recognition of outstanding performance, dedication to duty, and contributions that have made a visible and positive impact on society, several individuals were honored during the 79th Independence Day celebration held at the Public Ground, Wokha on 15th August 2025.

District Awards were conferred upon the following recipients, Lichumo Odyuo, District Programme Officer, DAPCU, Chief Medical Office, Wokha; Meribeni M. Ezung Radiographer; Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital, Wokha; Abenno Ovung, Planning & Livelihood Expert, DMU Wokha, Wokha Forest Division. 

In addition, District Commendation Certificates were awarded to, K. Nchumbemo Ezung , ABSI, 7th NAP Battalion, Bhandari; Y. Yentsao Shitio, MTS, Office of the District Election Officer, Wokha; Lothungbeni Humtsoe, Field Investigator, Office of the District Economics & Statistics Officer, Wokha; Shancho Ezung, MTS, Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Wokha. 

The awards and commendation certificates were formally presented by the Special Guest, Salhoutuonuo Kruse, Minister for Women Resource Development and Horticulture, Government of Nagaland.
