ATMA Tseminyu, Chunlikha Block conducted demonstration at various villages and also inaugurated a farm school on organic Avocado cultivation and organised Kisan Gosthi at Yikhanu village on 26th May 2025.
The inauguration of farm school cum Kisan Gosthi was organised with Imtinuksang, SMS (Soil Conservation) KVK, Kohima as the resource person. The resource person had an interactive session with the farmers where he appraised on the management of soil fertility and overall soil health mainly focusing on Avocado fruit. He explained on the spacing, pit size and use of bio fertilizer for growing avocado plant. Demonstration on agro-forestry system of farming was also conducted, where the resource person ATM Chenobu Seb appraised on cultivation of crops along with tree crops and fruit crops and its benefits.
Capacity building and Demonstration on cultivation practices of Horticultural crops, summer crops and agro forestry system of farming was conducted at Tsonsa, Tesophenyu, Ziphenyu, Chunlikha, Nsunyu, Kandinu from 26 till 31st May 2025, where the resource persons ATM Chenobu Seb and ATM Sinlo Khing gave a hands on demonstration in growing various crops, the scientific method of growing the crops.
The program was conducted with SHG and FSG of the villages to help them in utilising the scientific method for better production and yield of their produce. Seeds and saplings were also distributed to the farmers group during the program.
