The Office of the Deputy Commissioner & Principal Census Officer, Kohima, has announced that the House Listing Operations (HLO) and Housing Census, Phase-I of the Census of India 2027, will be carried out across Kohima district from July 1 to July 30, 2026.

According to a public circular issued by the Deputy Commissioner & Principal Census Officer, B. Henok Buchem, NCS, enumerators and supervisors will visit every household during the 30-day exercise to collect information on housing characteristics, basic amenities, and household assets.

The administration has assured that all information collected during the census will remain strictly confidential and will be protected.

The district administration has appealed to all citizens, village and ward authorities, and civil society organisations in Kohima district to extend full cooperation to census functionaries to ensure the successful conduct of an accurate and inclusive Census of India 2027.
