The District Administration of Phek along with SAKALP- DHEW in collaboration with Sakhi One Stop Centre, Phek observed the International Day for Elimination of Violence against Women cum launching program of Sixteen Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence at Town Council Hall, Phek on 25th November 2025.

In his keynote address, Rhosietho Nguori, Deputy Commissioner, Phek who is also the Chairperson of the District Level Community, Mission Shakti discouraged the tendency of looking down on women by men in totality and also opposed digital violence that exists in the present society. 

According to the DC, digital violence is becoming more challenging than physical violence for which he advised parents to monitor those internet contents watches by children. Therefore, he said that every responsible citizen should continue to maintain mindset of equality amongst men and women throughout one's life and urged upon the stakeholders to give responsible effort during sixteen days of Activism program for elimination of gender-based violence against women beginning from 25th November. 

Guest Speaker, Dr. Pritpal Kaur, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Phek spoke about God's creation of men and women with biological difference, and she however justified on gender equality in terms of jobs and opportunity. Dr. Kaur then informed that cyber crimes against women had gone beyond imagination, where more than 2.5 lacs cases are registered in the NCR Portal related to digital violence against women alone. She therefore, urged upon men to change their mindset and shared cyber crime helpline No. 1930 for report. 

Sakulu Lohe brightened up the program with her melodious song. 

Menu-u Tsuhah, CA Shaki- One Stop Centre proposed the vote of thanks. The program was chaired by Vileno K. Thisa, District Mission Coordinator, DHEW, Phek. 

Altogether sixty participants from line departments, civil societies, Churches and NGOs attended the program. It concluded with signature campaign under the theme- He For She.
